Oakley athlete Lee Wilson prepares to begin the defense of his Indonesian Surfing Championships Crown

With Bali settling into early dry season weather patterns and consistent swell forecasted throughout the waiting period, the Oakley Pro 2010 looks set to start Thursday morning, April 1, at Canggu Beach, Bali Indonesia. One surfer looking forward to the to the start of the event is recently signed Oakley athlete and reining Indonesian Champion Lee Wilson.

“Hopefully we will be able to get moving through the early rounds first thing in the morning on Thursday because I am frothing to get out there” stated Lee when asked about the upcoming event. “Canggu is just such a surf playground, really giving the guys the opportunity to perform and show what professional surfing in Indonesia is all about”.

Since moving back to Bali after completing school in Australia, Lee has established himself as one of the most formidable free surfing and competition acts in the region, previously winning the Indonesian Surfing Championship Series in 2007 and again last year. This competition prowess matched with a repertoire of powerhouse moves both on and far above the waves made Lee an obvious choice for Oakley when looking for a key ambassador for the brand in the region.

Marketing Director for Oakley South Pacific, Phil Ward reinforced this view. “With such a developed brand presence in Indonesia, we have been looking for some time to find the right person to help drive us forward in the region. As Oakley is relevant across so many markets and product categories it was import for us to find someone who has the ability to transcend the boundaries of just surfing. A person as talented as Lee really fits the bill- we are elated to have him on board”.

When asked about defending his title, Lee commented, “I am really looking forward to this year. While Oakley is giving me the support to chase new opportunities and projects, I have been pretty consistent in the ISC events since the inception of the series (Lee also finished runner up in 06 and again in 08) I am feeling pretty confident and in tune for the year ahead”.

For those not fortunate enough to be in Bali, Oakley have just gone live with a dedicated event mini-site to keep everyone up to date with the latest news, photos and footage.

The Oakley Pro 2010 is a 6-Star Indonesian Surfing Championship event that will be held at Canggu Beach starting on the 1st of April with a 10-day waiting period.

This is the sixth year Oakley has supported the ISC and the growth of surfing in Indonesia. Oakley has previously hosted five ISC-sanctioned competitions in Bali since 2005, two at Bingin and two at Kuta Beach.  Last year saw a move to Canggu, the site of this year’s competition.

Photos and newsfeeds including TV copy and shot lists will be available for free distribution for each day of competition.

Oakley to kick off 2010 Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour in April

Oakley to kick off 2010 Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship Tour with the
Oakley Pro 2010 at Canggu Beach, Bali.

As an industry leader in the core sports market, Oakley is pleased to announce the dates and the venue for its annual 6-star Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship event; the Oakley Pro 2010 from April 1-10 at Canggu Beach, Bali, Indonesia

As one of the highest performance waves in Bali, Canggu was the obvious choice for the event location last year, and as Oakley continues their push to raise the bar of performance through quality venues, it was an easy decision to return again this year to host the first event of this year’s Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championships series.

“Last year Oakley scored with amazing conditions through the entire event, leading to some of the best surfing of the year,” noted 2009 Coca-Cola ISC Champion and Oakley athlete Lee Wilson, “and with what appears to be an early onset of dry season conditions and offshore trade winds combined with a great tide window, the surfers are really looking forward to going big again at this year’s event.”

A Mecca for the international surfing community, Canggu is one of the most photographed waves in the region. With the perfect waves breaking in close proximity to the beach and great facilities available in the rapidly developing area, Canggu is just as user-friendly for the spectators as for the surfers.

Acknowledging the fact that many fans won’t have the chance to make it to the beach, Oakley will be working hard this year to bring the waves to cities across Indonesia. “The growing popularity and interest in surfing in Indonesia and beyond the traditional boundaries of Bali has not been lost on Oakley,” states Gino Andrias, Oakley Sports and Alternate Marketing Manager. “We will be looking to take advantage of the amazing venue we have for this year’s event to provide photos, video and updates to our 160,000+ Facebook fans and will be launching an integrated event minisite this week to maximize our reach beyond the beach throughout the competition window”.

The Oakley Pro 2010 is a 6-Star Indonesian Surfing Championship event that will be held at Canggu Beach starting on the 1st of April with a 10-day waiting period, allowing the surfers to compete in only the best waves. A total prize purse of nearly Rp 50 million ($5,000 USD) with Rp 10 million ($1,000 USD) going to the winner of the Open Division; along with valuable championship points, will ensure the level of competition as well as the excitement factor will be going off the scale.

This is the sixth year that Oakley has been supporting the ISC and the growth of surfing in Indonesia. Oakley has hosted five ISC-sanctioned competitions in Bali since 2005, two at Bingin and two at Kuta Beach.  Last year saw a move to the wave rich playground of Canggu, the site of this year’s competition.

Photos and newsfeeds including TV copy and shot lists will be available for free distribution for each day of competition.

Be a Leader

How to be a good leader? Bellow some tips that I got when I had trained with Dale Carnegie. We should be a better person as always :)

Begin with praise and honest appreciation
Mulailah dengan pujian dan apresiasi yang tulus

Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly
Tunjukkan kesalahan secara tidak langsung

Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person
Akui kesalahan Anda sendiri sebelum mengkritik orang

Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
Ajukan pertanyaan sebagai ganti perintah langsung

Let the other person save face
Selamatkan muka orang lain

Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise
Beri pujian atas setiap kemajuan, betapa pun kecilnya

Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to
Beri reputasi tinggi untuk dicapai

Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct
Beri dorongan. Buatlah kesalahan mudah diperbaiki

Make other person happy about the thing you suggest
Buatlah orang lain senang melakukan apa yang Anda usulkan

Cold Outside

Today activity was for family time. I went to ITC Cempaka Mas buying some fabrics (cotton & chiffons) then we were going to Seafood Ayu (highly recommended seafood restaurant in Kelapa Gading). I felt dissappointed because my favorite menu "Kepiting Saus Padang" runned out.

Jakarta weather is cloudy in someplace and rainy in others area, so it makes the temperature little bit cold.

Macau

After visiting Thailand and Hong Kong, we were going to Macau. The Macau Special Administrative Region commonly known as Macau or Macao is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China; the other is Hong Kong. Macau was a Portuguese colony and both the first and last European one in China.

A-Ma Temple, a temple built in 1448 dedicated to tha goddess Matsu

Leal Senado Square is paved with a wave-patterned mosaic of coloured stones, created by Portuguese experts.

Macau Tower, because of bad weather we was forbidden going to the highest, we just got brunch in first floor.

A view of Macau, a peaceful city

At The Venetian, must visit place in Macau!

So enchanting,beautiful!

Wooow,goldies everywhere!

Italy miniature in The Venetian

Canal with gondola, so romantic :)

I also found unique building, creative indeed.

The building just like a dinasaurous, hehehe

I don't know what that symbol means, anyone could help?

Macau is Las Vegas in Asia. You can find many casinos in every part of this region.

3 languages in every sign at Macau, which is Chinese, English, and Portuguese

Because of the colony of Portuguese , buildings in Macau just like in Europe

T-shirt, cardigan, legging, sling bag, and crocs shoes. The comfiest outfit for traveling.

At hotel, matched with my outfit, hehehe

Insya allah, I will go to Singapore in April, please give me suggestions any place that I must visit there. Ok? ok? Thank you :)
