Mimoco Adds 8GB to Line of MIMOBOT® USB Flash Drives

Mimoco, the Boston-based maker of MIMOBOT® designer USB flash drives, today added a new level of storage to their highly collectible and artistic line of portable USB memory devices. Available until recently in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities, as of today all MIMOBOT designs are also available in the new 8GB size.

Kicking off the high-capacity release, Mimoco announced that just thirty-one Darth Vader MIMOBOT drives from the long since sold out Star Wars MIMOBOT Series 1 will be made available in the 8GB size to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the original Star Wars movie’s release (May 25, 1977).

MIMOBOT flash drives are the world’s first character-based designer USB flash drives. Comprised of original characters, artist collaborations, and licensed crossovers, some of the most popular MIMOBOT designs have been from the first two Star Wars MIMOBOT Series. Since the limited edition product line’s inception, the maximum capacity has jumped up from 1GB to today’s announced 8GB.

Vader’s return is particularly exciting for MIMOBOT and Star Wars fans alike, as Vader’s 2006 introduction marked the beginning of the ongoing Star Wars MIMOBOT Series of USB flash drives, and also heralds re-upped ultra-limited editions of additionally retired MIMOBOT characters down the road.
