New York I Love you....

Huge congratulations to the US team at Seychelles and BC footwear for the incredible New York press launch of their Fall and Holiday '08 collections.

We were lucky enough to head over to their beautifully stylish loft location in the Big Apple to experience an glittering event packed with fabulous shoes, perfect pampering, great music, fantastic food, topped off with the cream of the US fashion Press. It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it!

We were blown away by the new holiday injection lines of Seychelles which includes some of their sexiest shoes to date in jewel coloured satins and shimmering metallics on skyscraper heels and vintage platforms alongside BC's funky trompe l'oeil pumps, wonderful winter boots and shining patent moccasins.

Thanks again to the US team for making us so very welcome and we can’t wait to start working with the new collections in the UK. Watch this space for a little taster of what’s to come next season and if you can’t wait until then go to www.bcfootwear.net or www.seychellesfootwear.com

Truth, justice, and the American Way…

While in New York for the Seychelles and BC Press launch last week we wandered over to the Superheroes Fashion & Fantasy exhibition at the Met. The exhibition is truly worth a visit if you're in NYC!

Sponsored by Giorgio Armani the exhibition features a mixture of film costume, couture, and sportswear, defined by different interpretations of the body,'The Graphic Body' with Superman and Spiderman costumes and designer pieces, 'The Verile Body' from the Hulk to incarnations by Alexander McQueen and Galliano, 'The Paradoxical Body' from Catwoman costumes to Dolce and Gabbana, Thierry Mulger, and Versace runway looks, 'The Patriotic Body' with Wonder Woman's red, white and blue, to designs by Bernhard Willhelm and Rick Owens, 'The Armoured Body' featuring the enormous Iron Man costume and designs by Thierry Mulger, Pierre Cardin, and Balenciaga, 'The Aerodynamic Body' featuring sportswear from Speedo and Nike, 'The Mutant Body' from X-Men costumes to Alexander McQueen, and finally 'The Postmodern Body' also with designs from Alexander McQueen.

Definitely worth taking a look if you love fashion but if you’re a cartoon fanatic or fantasy film geek then it'll be right up your comic strip!

Having a BLUE Whale of a time

Dame Ellen Macarthur unveiled acclaimed artist Wyland's BLUE Whale Mural at The National Marine Aquarium surrounded by The BLUE® Project's youngest 'champions for the environment'.
Acclaimed marine life artist and conservation advocate Wyland partnered with the National Marine Aquarium in
Plymouth to produce his 97th, and one of the last remaining murals in his internationally renowned Whaling Wall art project. Dame Ellen MacArthur and children from The BLUE® Climate and Oceans Project celebrated the occasion with Wyland infront of the impressive 150 square meter underwater scene. The mural covers the side of the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and was created throughout the week to raise awareness about marine life conservation and global water issues.
The unveiling followed an incredible week of fun and inspiring activities themed around marine life and climate change on Plymouth's Barbican with The BLUE® Project and it’s founder
Conrad Humphreys designed to inspire and motivate young people to become active in reducing their impact on the world’s climate and oceans.
