Triple Crown & WWA Worlds first stop, Winnipeg

Had a great time in London and this morning bouncing to Winnipeg for the first stop of the Triple Crown/WWA Worlds.  Had a great time at JB Ski, Liquid Leisure, not to mention the Demo Riding at Box end.    Will be back in England at the end of July, after the Winnipeg stop, and then 3 weeks in Orlando.

Cannot wait to hook up with everyone at the comp, and for me will be my first time in North America and I will be hooking up with Lior Sofar, the moment I arrive in Canada.

LONDON

Spent the weekend with my Grandparents in Newcastle and will bounce to London tomorrow evening to hook up with Freddie Carter and the other riders around Thorpe, Liquid Leisure and Box End.  Will be shredding in London until Sunday, then Monday 4th off to Winnipeg for the worlds.

On Friday from 3.00 - 7.00 pm I will be at Box End to help out with Coaching and do also some Demo Riding.  Box End is a sick cable, I was there in 2009 straight after Wakestock and love the set up, especially for wakeskating.

Last time I was at Box End, was for the British Nationals (2010), cannot wait to go back.

Ski 360 - Singpore

I Hit Ski 360 in Singpore on the way back from Bali and rode for an hour rather than Sitting at the airport waiting for the connecting flight.   Singapore is for me the best airport, with free internet, free sweets at immigration (both in and out :) ), so with a 2 1/2 hour wait in transit, I could shred for an hour at the local cable.

David Ngiam sorted me out with some equipment, a bigger board than usual, but could still have some fun, below is a short video of my riding.

Rip Curl, Bali HQ

The last 3 days were spent at Rip Curl Asian Head office in Bali.    Super stoked to sign a new 3 year contract with Rip Curl, my first major sponsor.    The new products coming out by Rip Curl are sick, especially the board short styles and with a new sick range of shades.

The last two days were full of action.

Day 1, contract discussions, shopping, photo shoots, then got some surfing lessons, and then I bunjee jumped from 50 metres wearing a wakeboard, there should be some sick photo's coming out from this.

Day 2, The Rip Curl school of surf built in one day, an old school kicker and I done some demo riding behind boat, as well as some photo shooting.

http://www.isctour.com/content/industry-news/world-champion-wake-boarder-dan-grant-visits-bali/

We stayed at the awsome Ripcul Villa, overlooking one of the best surf spots in the world.   Love the place, the people the food and cannot wait to come back soon!

A big thanks to James, Yudha and Johnny who made my crazy wakeboard bunjee jump possible.  He has people on fire and on motorbikes doing bunjee jumps and was behind the kicker building.  I am sure he will add his own style to Indo Wakeboarding, the Rip Curl start to back the development of the sport around Bali.

True Move, Asian Wakepark Tour

I am stoked to announce that True Move have sponsored me for the Asian Wakepark tour, which starts this weekend at Thai Wakepark, then followed by Ski 360, Singapore and then most likely the final stop in Philippines.

True is an awsome company, not only feeding my iphone with 3G capabilities, but they are involved in the main international tv/sport channels in Thailand, as well as having "TRUE COFFEE", one which is right in front of my school.

A huge thanks to True for supporting me, cannot wait for the weekend.

King of Kicker, Thai Wakepark, Bangkok

Super Stoked to take first place in Open Mens Wakeskate and third place in Open Men Wakeboard.   The compeition was insane and worked on a jam session in all open heats.

Open Wakeboard was amazing within the last 2 minutes of the Jam Session, Domnick stuck a TS BS 10, with Aye and me both sticking a Aye TS FS 10.

The format was best trick over 4 zones, with the kicker zone scoring double points, so it all came down to the scoring on the 1080's.

An amazing compeition, I turn 13 years old on Thursday. Yew !!

Rip Curl - Wakeboard Team

I am proud since 2 years now to be representing Rip Curl and be part of the Rip Curl wakeboard team. Their products are just getting better and better, and without their support, It would not have been possible for me to take part in so many competitions.

Ripcurl are now featuring more and more their interest and support in wakeboarding/wakeskating and have created already a blog section, where I am featured, which can be found at http://www.asia.ripcurl.com/?asiawake-danielgrant

I heard they will also start to print some graphics at their shops in Asia with their riders. Cool Beans !

Asian Wakepark Tour, Lago de Oro - Phiippines.

Super stoked to get first place in Open Wakeskate, making me the Asian Wakepark Champion of Asia for wakeskate 2010, keeping the crown from 2009.  For wakeboard I came 4th, with 3rd overall for the tour.

Freddie kept 2nd place in the comp and on the tour for skate.  Bomb won open wakeboard and came first overall on the tour.

Back to Bangkok today, after an awsome time in The Philippines and I will return for the worlds in the Middle of January.

Just arrived Manila after having a great time shredding at CWC. Now for the Asian Wakepark your, cannot wait. The standings are very tight this year, anything can happen! Watch this space.

After Reef Wakefest, I will be in MNL for the final stop of the Asian Wakepark tour. Never been to the cable, so will be a first. An exciting stop, as it is the 3rd and final stop of the Asian Wakepark tour, with me still have a chance for the tour in open wakeboard and open wakeskate. More news to follow.

Reef Wakefest, CWC Philippines.

20th November 2010 : - Got 1st in Open wakeskate and 2nd in Open Wakeboard, a great day for the Thai Team with Aye taking first place for Open Wakeboard and Freddie getting 3rd for Open Wakeskate. That means a podium position for all the Thai Riders.

I will stay a few days at CWC until flying to Manila on Wednesday for the final part of the Asian Wakepark tour. Hopefully some good shredding sessions at CWC from now until then :)

A big shout to Republic and CWC for supporting me, especially for the support directly from the Guv and Treena.

The One Wakeskate

The One wakesk8 has become the wakeskate competition of the year in Thailand. Last year was the first year and the first comp I had stepped into Open Men and won at that time (Jan 2009) as well as best trick:). This year was at TWP and with 60 riders in total, it did not fail to dissapoint. The level of wakeskate riding in Thailand has increased so much with Shuv on / Shuv off being something done in the novice category. For Open Men, we had qualfying and then for the last 4 a head to head, 10 minute Jam session.

The comp was close in the end, but was super stoked to get first place, and land my turtle flip, towards the end of the 10 minute jam session. Now that I have done this is a comp, I can offically name it :)

.

WWA Comp - Turkey

All year I wanted to see Hipnotics, the most known cable Pro-RIder Tatsanaye Aye is featured in Hipnose, so since then I heard so many good things about it. I travelled together with Aye and as I always do for WWA, represented by home riding country - Thailand.
The wake scene in Asia is growing so much and Thailand is leading this, I try where possible to promote Thai Wakepark and Thai Riders. I just love the Thai Style of riding and being 1/2 Thai, I always feel the need to push and promote their cable and the county as a leading wake nation.

http://video.mpora.fr/watch/pA4brRchz/

I won Boys Division wakeboard, got 3rd in Open wakeskate (Andy and Jan Kissman getting 1st and 2nd) and had a great time in the Pro Men Obstacle Jam, getting knocked out by Keith Lidberg. It was a close comp and great fun.

X-Mini

I just wanted to give a big shout to X-Mini. They are a cool company based in Singapore, that make portable speakers, which are idea for ipad's, laptop's etc, certainly they were my best freind when I was 7 weeks in Europe :). As an ambassador for X-Mini, I have given away x-mini speakers to pro-riders. Steffen Vollert, Andy Kolb and Domnic Guhrs all loved the product which they saw first at my cable house at TWP. I gave to Shawn Watson one, after our head to head battle at Wake the Line, as well as other great riders such as Tom Fooshe and C.K Koester and my good mate Fredie Carter.

They are truly an awsome speaker and I suggest anyone who want's a portable sound, buy them.
