Huntington Beach, Calif. (May, 2011)—Quiksilver today announced that it has extended and expanded its sponsorship of Dane Reynolds, a leading force in the world of progressive surfing, through 2017. Reynolds, 25, of Ventura, California, and Quiksilver reached agreement earlier this week on the new global deal which extends Dane’s contract with the elite Quiksilver surf team and includes the development and design of signature products.
“I've ridden for Quiksilver for 8 years now and the relationship has just gotten more functional and fun,” says Dane Reynolds. “I'm really happy with the people I'm working with and I'm really pleased that they offered to resign me. I think we're in a position to make some rad stuff and have a ton of fun while doing it.”
"Re-signing Dane for another six years is monumental," said Craig Stevenson, President of Quiksilver Americas. "Dane's incredible surfing, personal style and inspiring attitude will help drive our brand forward in many exciting ways. We are very eager to expand our relationship with such an incredible athlete who influences so many young-minded people all over the world. We look forward to continue working with Dane, collaborating with him on interesting projects, and watching him on the 2011 ASP World Tour, especially at the Quiksilver Pro New York this September.”
Dane is one the world’s most progressive and exciting surfers and he has been competing on the ASP World Tour since 2008. A Quiksilver team rider since 2003 Dane has been racking up awards for both film parts and competitions since his professional career began, including the 2009 ASP ‘Most Improved Award,’ the 2008 ASP ‘Rookie of the Year,’ as well as Surfer Poll Awards ‘Best Male Performance in a Video’ and ‘Video of the Year’ for First Chapter. Dane has also earned ESPN Summer X-Games ‘Highest Single Wave Score’ twice and was voted the ‘Next Big Thing’ byAustralia Surfing Life Magazine.
