Everybody Changing

Each day is a new life. Seize it. Live it.
(David Guy Powers)

Life is unpredictable. I graduated from university, then applied to many companies. For almost a year, I joined at multinational beverage company at supply chain department. I love the company so much!!! Its American culture, well-developed system at any process, nice people, environment, also my job.

Then, I decided to resign in order to develop my line. Those time was really hard yet the happiest phase of my life. Why? It was hard because actually my parent didn't support me, they forced me to apply another job than being an entrepreneur. I realized that I hadn't discussed with them earlier. I felt when my mom sad; she insisted me to get a job; she was talking job application in here and there. Woosaaahh... I depressed. I'm not kind a person who can tell anything to my parent, nor my best friend.

And... here's the best part. I follow them, I try to make them happy, this is my main responsibility as a daughter. When I tried to apply, one of oil & gas company from France called me. I ever applied on 2009 (failed) and they called me again on 2011, without any circumtances, when I need a job. I was interviewed twice and viola! I got a new job. The point that I want to share with you all is, just follow your parent's hope, they want the best for you and let Allah lead your way. Allah always give His grace at a right time.

My precious fam
 *Note :
Now I can manage my time between my 'office' job also develop my line. I can achieve both of them, achieve my passion + making my parent proud. Just seize it and live it :) BISMILLAH.

The Circle of Friends

Restu, Talitha, Puput, Wulan, and Febby

I recognized Talitha from her blog, Non-sugarbanana, when she made tutorial how to wear pashmina and the tutorial was really simple and easily understand, it was my first time wearing pashmina (see my post here).

I did blog-walking until I came to Puput Utami's Blog. Recently I noticed that she used to be my junior at High School. We started leaving comment, I like the way she mix her casual outfit and she always give her best pose. She gave me an award (see the post here), and guess what? I did left on my last paragraph " I wonder we can do some meet up sometime, is it a great idea? :)) "

A hearted person and very kind person, Febby. She is Puput's best friend, I met her at Urban Kitchen. I felt really comfortable and close immediately with her since we first met. We like to share our story, yes she love to share and discuss everything.

And Restu, a very best friend of mine. What words should describe her? .I spent almost 8 years with her and I learnt many things from her. She challenge her self to choose her passion and she work really hard for it, salute! And We've been developing our Mainland Heritage together, all the best for us.

The point of my post is : how great the power of internet is, especially blogging. We can meet unknown person to be our best friends. And our best friend can be a friend with your best friend, this is a circle of friends. Our silaturahm become tight (I miss you all ^^) and I feel blessed that I can meet new people and get inspired from them, alhamdulillah.

So, when will we held a meet up, dear bloggers? :))

Ketika Indonesia Keliatan Sedikit Lebih Keren

This will be quite a long paragraph post you are about to read, but please read  until the end if you dont mind. It'll inspiring you.
Let me introduce who the writter behind this great notes, he is Agung Hikmat, a friend of mine while at ITB.
Happy reading and be inspired ^^
-----------------------------------

“The grass is always greener on the other side”

Luar biasa, rasanya seperti roller coaster, my real journey just begun after spending 23 years in Bandung. A lot of things happen, hard time, good time, anger, laughter, tears, joy, sadness, ditinggikan, dijatuhkan. It all happens in instant like crazy.

  • SESSION 1: ASEAN: Emerging Opportunities and Challenges
  • SESSION 2: Indonesia: ASEAN’s Next Biggest Thing
  • SESSION 3: The Direction of Islamic Finance in ASEAN
  • SESSION 4: Where is Malaysia in ASEAN?

Thanks to Sinetron yang membuat mereka begitu mengerti kita! Sinetron is so popular here sampai ada satu channel  khusus untuk broadcast acara Indonesia! Musik? Apalagi!

Keliatannya invasi budaya kita juga pernah agak ‘keterlaluan’ disini setelah sy dengar, bahasa lo-gue sempat jadi bahasa ‘gaul’ mereka sampai akhirnya kementrian budaya disini pun turun tangan menghambat laju the Indonesian invasion.

What about sport?

They call it passion...

Punch line-nya mereka bilang, “if Indonesian wants something, he will fight for it”, dan it’s true up to now.

Memang bukan excuse, but aren’t we doing ‘a not bad job’ so far? Ayo tunjukkan apresiasi! Soeharto? Gayus? DPR? No, it’s all our job!

So, apa Indonesia keliatan lebih keren? A lil better maybe?

Deep Breath

Recently, I used to drop by my office friend, she is a 40 something, her name is Bu Hermien. And today, she told me a valuable advice that I most forget as a human being. I am a kind human that full of ambitions. Yet if I can not reach it then I would blame my self and fight more. But.. one thing that I forget : God, Allah swt, also has plan for us. If Allah think that it is not good for us, then Allah will not granted too, and also the otherwise. Just ikhlas and ridho, she said.

Oh yaa, I got an award from Kristiyana Shinta from chocochic, thank youu :*

I do love Earth

Featured at Diana Rikasari blog. Yes I do love earth, just bring your bag and don't use more plastics!!

Plastic bags are difficult and costly to recycle and most end up on landfill sites where they take around 300 years to photodegrade.

A Value of Communication

We have so many ways to communicate. Those abundant technologies can help us to relate people: Facebook, Twitter, YM, BBM, text messaging, or even a call. So we have no reason forgetting people because we have tools for communication. If we were forget, maybe we forget him literally, we even don't remember him as a friend.

Sorry for random thought of mine, just ignore it :)

Newly Single

I met you at ITB. We had same major and class, 2005 Industrial Enginnering, class #3. I knew you since you was and still the master of Technical Drawing. Yes, you are damn intelligent, clever, and knowledgable. Until a time when I broke up with my boy friend, you looked happy, you wrote a comment in my Friendster, huh how cruel you!.

Then, a miracle happened. Yes, we became a couple. It seemed like I found my prince, I found you, you will be my husband. We had been through a rough and wonderful life for almost 4 years. I remembered when we did our first date : watched Casino Royale at BIP and had dinner at Road Cafe Cilaki. Did you remember when we go to Prambors event to watch my favorite band, Goodnight Electric and The Upstairs?hehehe, I had so much fun with you.

Ah.. so many things that I wanna write on this post, about our love stories. But, it was hard for me, indeed. I was thinking this ended up relationship so many time : If I hadn't met you, I wouldn't like you. If I hadn't liked you, I wouldn't love you. If I wouldn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did. I just being thankful that I've met you.

Thank you for always supporting me, being nice to my family, thank you for everything, Tendy Saktyaji. I wish you success with your master degree, your project, you life.

Trying to forget someone you love is like trying to remember someone you never knew. But I must move on. I have so many friends that I can lay on, thanks for your shoulders and warm hugs. Guys, if you need to fix a broken heart, friends make the best glue, trust me. I love you my friends.

Be a Leader

How to be a good leader? Bellow some tips that I got when I had trained with Dale Carnegie. We should be a better person as always :)

Begin with praise and honest appreciation
Mulailah dengan pujian dan apresiasi yang tulus

Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly
Tunjukkan kesalahan secara tidak langsung

Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person
Akui kesalahan Anda sendiri sebelum mengkritik orang

Ask questions instead of giving direct orders
Ajukan pertanyaan sebagai ganti perintah langsung

Let the other person save face
Selamatkan muka orang lain

Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise
Beri pujian atas setiap kemajuan, betapa pun kecilnya

Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to
Beri reputasi tinggi untuk dicapai

Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct
Beri dorongan. Buatlah kesalahan mudah diperbaiki

Make other person happy about the thing you suggest
Buatlah orang lain senang melakukan apa yang Anda usulkan

Employer Of Choice

Definition :

Background of the issue :

Today's workers have choices, economists ensure that there will be abundance of employment opportunities. In this huge market, workers will make clear decisions about where they will work, why, and for how long. So, what influences make workers choose their employer, especially at PT CCBI?

Solution :

PT CCBI should focus on how people are treated at work :
  1. PT CCBI must open communication at all levels, from Helper to Director. We have to build communication that could stimulates innovation and increase effectiveness, so our vision can be achieve.
  2. We have to care for people. Every employee must appreciate each other and show that everyone is valued and contributed to company success.
  3. Coaching and developing is a must. Leader should coach and develop his employees so that their unique and potential could build organizational success.
  4. Honesty and fairness between employee and employer. If honesty and fairness are given between them, employee do their job perfectly and say, stay, strive with PT CCBI.
Action :

NOW! What are you waiting for! We have to be Employer Of Choice immediately.

*ps : this is one of my assignments during training. We should present this using visual aid that we make by our self. Sounds interesting, ya?

Road Riding : Day 2

Semangaaaat paaagiiii!
Just sharing my valuable experience in second road riding, happy reading!

Monday, January 18th 2010
At this time, I was located in Pondok Ungu Sales Center, together with Widya, Brigas, and Ricky. It was time for delivery. After salesman had ordered last friday (see my last post), delivery man distributed products on monday.

I accompanied Bapak Harno as a delivery man and Bapak Gino as a helper. They were very kind, funny, hard working and very javannese, hehehe. Bapak Harno has been doing this job for 14 years, he has 1 son (he told me that his son, in elementary school, prefered buy parfumme than ice cream, ck ck.. anak jaman sekarang), and he missed his family at village. Then, Bapak Gino has been doing this job for 1 year and he has 1 daughter.

Bapak Harno and Bapak Gino

Our distribution area were arround Kranji, Taman Galaxy, Jatibening, Bintara, and Jaka Sampurna. There were 28 outlets that we should distribute. Before we went to outlets, we had checked the truck and the amount of product.

Truck : front view, hmmm..nothing interesting

Truck : Back view, aw aw aw, there is my boy friend, ello :)

What did they do in each outlet?
Of course, they must deliver the product and get the money. But, not every outlet took all what they have ordered, maybe because they didn't have the money, there were no person in charge, or they never order before.

Bapak Gino worked so hard

By the way, this is me drove the truck, lol.
