Suryana was also last year’s West Java Open winner and is extremely happy to be competing again this year to defend his title. “Winning the event last year in front of my friends and family was such a great experience. Getting to hug my mum with that trophy in my hand was the best moment ever. At the beginning of this year I was worried that the dates wouldn’t line up and there would be a WQS event at the same time and that I wouldn’t be able to come home for this contest, but luckily things worked out and I can be here to defend my title. I’m so looking forward to holding up that 2011 trophy on finals day!” said Suryana.
The Best West Java Open will kick off with a huge launch party in Jakarta at the Hard Rock Café on Thursday night June 9 starting at 8:00 pm, with an Echo Beach 80’s style theme as the dress code. First on the agenda is a press conference to introduce the event to the media, and then its straight into the Roxy Short-Short competition, where Jakarta’s sexiest girls will take to the stage to compete for cash prizes, Roxy products and more.
In between rounds there will be a Fashion Parade with athletes and models showing off the latest Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC gear, as well as lots of door prizes, lucky draws, and prizes for the Best Dressed in Echo Beach theme. To round out this Best Party night, Rolling Stones tribute band The Acid Speed will take over the stage and send the party into overdrive.
