New Seasons Greetings!
The countdown has started for London fashion week SS’09, running from the 14th to19th September. While we look forward to the best of British and enjoy New York’s runway delights there’s that undeniable new season hustle and bustle beginning to permeate the Coffin on Cake office.
Our talkative PR lips are of course sealed as to what’s to come from our brands for SS’09 but to wet your appetite with the tiniest of fashion snippets expect to see a fab new ethical line, great new menswear additions and some collaborations that will knock your ruddy socks off.

Mud Best!
Coffin on Cake saw out the last of their (blink and you’ll miss it) English Summer with a very wet Bestival on the Isle of Wight last weekend.
The rain poured, carpeting the site in knee-deep mud soup but did nothing to dampen the spirits of the thousands of Bestival goers who partied through in nautical fancy dress for the ‘30,000 freaks under the sea’ theme. From Aphex Twin to Hot Chip, Roni Size to Underworld, and surprise guest Grace Jones, Bestival’s heady eclectic music mix kept everyone dancing and singing in the rain, with highlights including Santogold and the mind-blowing Beardyman, check out www.beardyman.co.uk and be amazed.

Congratulations Roz!
Big congratulations from all of us to Solo British rower Roz Savage who arrived in Hawaii on Monday, after successfully completing 2,900 miles of her epic Solo Pacific Rowing Voyage across the Pacific Ocean, from San Francisco!
Roz, originally from Cheshire rowed up to the Waikiki Yacht Club accompanied by a large group of boats eager to welcome triumphant Roz to the spectacular island.
Throughout the voyage Roz has been raising much needed awareness of the growing problem of ocean pollution. As an ambassador for the Blue Climate and Oceans Project has used her inspirational sporting adventure to bring attention to the devastating effect that plastic pollution has on our ocean and marine wildlife, a cause that the Blue Climate and Oceans Project endeavours to engage people with through sport.
A tired but elated Roz spoke from Hawaii: “If I was any happier I’d burst. It’s been a huge challenge with its fair share of problems, but I’ve made it and I am grateful to the ocean for allowing me safely across.” Speaking of the awareness she has brought from the voyage Roz commented: “I really feel like my shore team and I have achieved something special, we’ve touched a lot of people through the website and the pod-casts, and got them thinking about their impact on the environment. It’s been worth every single one of the million or so strokes of my oars.”
Roz starts the second stage of her Pacific Rowing Challenge in 2009, due to complete the 2,620 miles from Hawaii to Tuvalu. We wish her all the luck in the world with the rest of the challenge and if you want to find out more about Roz and her epic voyage just go to http://www.theblueproject.org/
