Adventurers of the Year 2008
We'd like to offer our congratulations to young adventuring duo, and BLUE® ambassadors, Rob Gauntlett (21) and James Hooper (21) who were last night named as the 2008 Adventurers of the Year at the National Geographic Society headquarters in
This prestigious award, recognises their achievements during their epic 394-day, 26,000-mile madcap human and natural powered dash from the north to the south pole which was completed earlier this year. Rob and James skied, dog-sledded, cycled and sailed their way from northern Greenland to the Antarctic’s Southern Ocean in one continuous run, overcoming life threatening challenges, to complete the first-of-its-kind pole-to-pole journey in an effort to raise climate change awareness and to inspire the human spirit.
We were lucky enough to met Rob and James earlier this year at the House of Commons with The BLUE® Climate & Oceans Project and know they’ll be proudly representing BLUE® in

Find of the Week!
Picked out as Grazia's 'Find of the week' our Seychelles Meteor Shower boots in black are positioned with some great editorial stating “All the New York fashionistas wore these stompers during fashion week in September, and now they’ve winged their way across the pond. Hurrah! Expect a riot.”.
We've already had word that since the magazine hit the shelves this morning the Seychelles phone has been ringing off the hook with orders, so thank you to the glorious Grazia team and if you can wait, head to Urban Outfitters on December 1st to get your own pair.

GOTCHA!
Gotcha has had a brief absence from the European market since Na Pali (Quiksilver group) gave up the Gotcha European license in November 2007, the brand is now being relaunched throughout Europe, with new products in store for Summer 2009, and much anticipation for their next collection which is accompanied by a very strong commercial offering.
The team behind the re-launch of the brand bolster years of commercial, marketing, and surf experience between them, with former Israeli surfing champion and founder of the Israeli Surfing Association Simon Doyev heading up the management team. Simon boasts 25 years experience in the textiles industry from manufacturing and distributing branded goods throughout Europe with his highly successful company TVMania which has head offices in Paris and a wide infrastructure and distribution network throughout Europe supplying major retail networks a selection of apparel, home ware, and accessories in both the Branded and TV Licensed Merchandise markets. Doyev now combines his passion for business with his passion for surfing. Commenting on his new venture he said, “this has always been a dream for me, to take on an iconic brand like Gotcha and develop it for the demands of today’s market. I’m a surfer through and through and Gotcha’s Fish-man has always been an iconic logo that has inspired me since I was a kid.”Doyev has developed a team of well established professionals around him to take up higher management positions within the company, with the appointment of Geraud Marechal as European Brand Manager, Arthur Rashkovan as European Marketing Manager, and legendary 80’s Aussie surfer Richard “Dog” Marsh heading up the European Surf Team.
Gotcha will re-launch in stores across Europe in Spring 2009 with a new approach to the market, focusing on an authentic and affordable line of surf fashion that carries the spirit and style the brand is famed for.

Late last year, our very favourite creative studio put themselves squarely into the hands of their fans with the Vimobot Design Contest, a unique competition which tapped the creative power of the MIMOBOT community.
The Do-It-Yourself vinyl art toy challenge sought the best and most innovative character designs and received a huge amount of entries from unknown, emerging, and amateur artists in the global MIMOBOT community. The entries were narrowed to twenty finalists which went to the MIMOBOT forum denizens who chose their six favourite designs to become MIMOBOT flash drives.
The result is mini art creations ranging from traditional character design to the semi-abstract that continue Mimoco’s devotion to the creation of original, rich, and also to engaging content, with the release of mimoZine™ Issue 4. MimoZine is Mimoco’s quarterly digital magazine, focusing on topics like music, tech, entertainment, and art, and will be available in the six winning designs in 1GB to 8GB USB Flash Drive capacities.
